East African Community Development is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC Section 170. We are qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. We are a public charity under the IRC Section 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi).

We are also a recognized non-profit corporation in the country of Ethiopia.

Launching “The Hunt for Buses for Ethiopian Special Needs School Children

 

Our first task is to find a like-minded support individual and/or support team. 

The Assignment…

#1 EADC is looking for good or slightly used diesel school buses, handicapped buses, city buses… that are available for donation to our tax-deductible non-profit for overseas use in 3rd world countries.

#2 Our expectations for this individual and/or support team of individuals are seeking their commitment to working as (a) volunteer(s), performing the following:

a. Find and build ongoing relationship(s) with owners and/or companies, to determine their interest, trade-in and replacement dates on their fleet and their willingness to accept a full donation for each transaction or their best residual payment for their buses and/or vehicles based on a one-off and/or a yearly donation schedule.

b. Inspect all buses and/or vehicles test driving if possible, making sure they are fixable and present options and/or a budget per each of the necessary repairs or servicing needed. 

c. Be responsible to administer or procure any work needed and present a budget to EACD as to the appropriate repair schedule.

d. Secure the transfer with paperwork and signatures required from all parties to release them to EACD. 

e. Find space to store them for several months while in the process of fixing or servicing and waiting on shipping times.

f. Organize and prepare them for shipping including all paperwork, insurance, licensing, pick up, delivery to and from, mechanical or fuel or oil requirements for shipping and/or all organizational work of disposing of these assets to their predetermined final destination.

#3 Be advised that we will need to probably remove or reduce and stack and secure the seats to allow for adequate room for the shipping of additional cargo of books, tools, solar panels, and other support equipment according to each overseas shipping arrangements TBD (To be determined) per each shipping unit.

#4 EACD will concentrate on seeking the coordination with each targeted countries governments, sub partner organizations, USAID and private donations or grants for funds to complete each bus or vehicle assignment.

#5 EACD is seeking someone and/or organization who are comfortable with making arrangements for delayed payments until all funds are fully secured for each project and shipping to receiving their procurement reimbursement payment before shipping.

If this sounds like an assignment that you and/or a group or support team you are active with or know would be interested in possibly doing, sponsoring, raise money for, and/or providing services per what we have described here in this letter, then please contact us ASAP so that we can review the process and review the exact expectations require in order to help in beginning these activities. This is our initial letter and we will expect our requirements to change as we receive fee back from all of you who receive this letter and the initial response from potential donors or sellers of these objects for ministry.
